TWAL’s Breakfast at the ATA Convention

Our breakfast held as part of the ATA Convention was another success for us. We had a terrific turn out with 54 guests treated to a couple of presentations and a lovely breakfast. The first presentation was from Laura Stead who gave us a quick rundown on the do’s and don’ts of dressing to your body shape. She has a long list of people lining up for a bit of quick advice now.

Laura was also kind enough to donate a beautiful fascinator that she has created as a lucky door prize for the morning. Monica Sullivan had the pleasure of winning that one. We would like to thank Volvo for bringing Laura along to present for us. The other lucky door prize was a full registration to our upcoming conference in June. This was won by Heather Jones.

We also had a very informative presentation from Kelly Brown from Recovery Partners all about Workplace Health and Safety. Kelly had some great information for us all, regardless of what level of business you may fall into.

Extension to the Early Bird Registration Cut Off

You have nine days left to take advantage of the early bird discount on the conference registrations. After the 18th May, the registrations will be $50 dearer, so it is well worth the effort to get in early. Don’t miss out.

On top of a thought provoking program of sessions and speakers, we will be having roving massages during the day. You can’t miss that! Nor could you miss our Cocktail Party on Friday night to get you fired up for the conference, or the Finale Dinner on Saturday night to wrap up the conference.

TWAL Congratulates our Finalists

Transport Women Australia Chair Pam McMillan has congratulated two of our members for being announced as finalists in the Trucking Industry Women of the Year for 2012 awards.

They are Jacquelene Brotherton – Board Director and our Immediate Past Chair, and Roz Shaw – from QLD and the current QLD Trucking Woman of the Year.

It shows the fine calibre of the nominees that each year some of our members make it to finalist status.

Well done ladies, we wish you both all the best.

Moving With The Times Conference

We have some fabulous sessions and speakers lined up for you as part of this year’s conference. It really will have something for everyone. You should come out at the other end of it enthused, inspired, recharged and refreshed ready to take on the world.

As we have done at past conferences we will be donating what we would have spent on gifts for the speakers towards a charity organisation. This year we have chosen to donate to Prostate Cancer research. Something that our Board feels is a very worthwhile cause.

If you are interested in becoming a member of TWAL (and this is definitely the year to get on board), there is now a membership application form available to download on our member page. Once you have filled it out, return it to me with your payment and we will get your member pack sent out as soon as we can. It is a great time to become a member, as you will be able to make savings on the registration for our Moving With The Times Conference, and any events you attend that we host.

Please note that if you use amex to pay (which is fine by us), there will be a surcharge of 5% applied to your payment. If you have an old form, please note that we will be using the updated surcharge, not the old one.

2012 Moving with the Times Conference

Finally we have the programs in our hands. We are sending out the hard copy 2012 Moving with the Times Conference Programs in today’s mail. If you would like to receive one, please contact me at admin@transportwomen.com.au with your mailing address and I shall arrange it for you.

Accomodation information can be found on the back page of the program brochure. Don’t leave it till the last minute to book, or you might find that you have to stay too far away from all the action.

After seeing a few other conference brochures for other events in the last few weeks, you can’t go past our Conference for being great value. You really will be glad you came to our event, it’s always a great conference and always great value for money.

Looking forward to being swamped with all your registrations over the next month or so.
