Transport Women Australia Limited in it's short existence has achieved an excellent reputation as an organisation which is keen to work constructively with other organisations and in pursuit of it's aims on an issue or function basis allowing for effective whole hearted involvement and cooperation.

Meetings and networking functions have been held independently and in conjunction with like-minded organisations in most states in capital cities and regional areas. As a result local networks are gradually being developed to address members issues and obtain feedback on the range of interests and topics which members would like to see addressed.

It is the belief of the Board that day to day organisational operations need to be responsive enough to address developing as well as established issues to effectively represent women in the industry.

By acknowledging the fact that the perception and approach of women can be vastly different than that of men, Transport Women Australia Limited has the potential to tackle things on a different basis than is currently followed. At the very least we can provide an alternative view on common issues in the marketplace, and address the often-unintended consequences of policy when this view is overlooked.

The outcomes either in policies or projects have the potential as a result to be equitable and sustainable for both the short and long term, as well as respectful of the individuals likely to be affected.
