On 8th June 2023 Transport Women Australia Limited’s Vice Chair Coralie Chapman was awarded the Excellence in Transport Award for 2023 at the prestigious Women in Industry Awards.

We are so proud of Coralie and everything she has achieved and continues to achieve. She has been on the Board of TWAL since 2016 and works tirelessly for the association and the road transport industry.

This award is a wonderful recognition of her ongoing contribution and dedication to the industry.

During her acceptance speech, Coralie took the opportunity to highlight the importance of making women feel invited into the industry rather than intimidated.

“If there is a takeaway tonight, I hope is that instead of saying ‘male dominated industry,’ which can sound very threatening – especially for young women – we change it to ‘predominantly male’,” she said. “’Predominantly male’ sounds more inviting. If we can learn to change our language when we’re talking to women, it’s a big step towards getting more women into any predominantly male industry.”
