Now perhaps the industry can work on the underlying issues to the satisfaction of the entire industry. The problems are still there, and need to be solved by all levels of the industry, not just the bureaucrats.
Our members who were affected should be able to resume their work now without fear of going out of business and losing their homes and livelihoods.
We would like to thank the Member for Indi, Cathy McGowan who supported our position and spoke last night in Parliament on our behalf and for small business across Australia. What we have been pleased to see, was the cohesion of small operators from across the country that joined forces to protest about this issue which was affecting so many lives. We hope they continue to work as a united front to achieve the best outcomes in the future.
We are deeply saddened by the loss of the gentleman who took his life last week over this issue and extend our sympathies to his family and friends.
